Our Thesis
Why Decoding Work Exists
The executive job market in India has a structural problem. Recruiters and retained search firms are paid by the hiring company. That creates a fundamental conflict of interest: the recruiter's incentive is to close the deal quickly, at the budget available, and to manage the candidate's expectations downward.
Senior leaders navigating their most important career moves — from Director to VP, from VP to CXO, from large company to startup — are making decisions worth crores in lifetime earnings. They deserve a partner whose only job is to get them the best outcome possible.
Decoding Work was built to be that partner. We are paid by the senior leader. We work for the senior leader. That is the entire model.

Every decision we make — which roles to surface, how to advise on offers, what to say about a company — is made in the interest of the senior leader we are partnering with. Not the employer.

If your positioning is weak, we tell you. If a company is not right for you, we tell you. If your compensation expectations need adjusting, we tell you — before you waste time, not after. The hardest feedback, given early, saves months.

Written proposals before payment. Clear fee structures with no hidden components. Explicit documentation of any success fees. We do not do vague arrangements — everything is in writing before we begin.
